Linux and ICE Computing

At ICE, you will always choose which Operating System you want on your new PC. You can even buy a PC from ICE without an OS. ICE Computing is proud to feature custom built PC's with the following Linux Operating Systems:

Ubuntu (default desktop is GNOME = more like a mac) and Kubuntu (default desktop is KDE = more like windows) Ubuntu is one of the fastest growing distros around. Check out the new Ubuntu CE (Christian Edition), with built-in parental controls and Sword Project software included.

PCLinuxOS (Great distro based on Mandriva)

These are great for novice Linux users, and also are easy to tie into existing Windows networks.

Other Linux / BSD distributions/builds to consider:

SimplyMepis (Great tech forum support for Newbies)

Fedora Core (the free version of Red Hat)

Debian  (The basis for a lot of distributions)

Mandriva (both free and paid versions)

Slackware  (Also the basis for a lot of distributions)

FreeBSD (the basis for most of the BSD distros.  Apple's Mac OSX is based on FreeBSD)

and about 100 other distros of LInux.

If you need help choosing which Linux Distribution  to use, give this Linux Distribution Chooser Tool a try.
